2× NBSBL Triple Crown Winner
Royals All-Time HR & RBI Leader
Professional Playing Experience

Jody Peterson brings professional playing experience, a record-setting career with the Fredericton Royals and a lifelong love of baseball to Triple Crown. His goal is to help young athletes develop their skills, understand the game and leave each session believing a little more in themselves.

A Fredericton native, Jody played professionally with the Friedberg Braves in Germany’s first division in 1998, batting .573 with 12 home runs and 58 RBIs in 37 games. Back home, he became the Royals’ all-time leader in home runs and RBIs, earning two NBSBL Triple Crowns and helping the team win 11 senior championships, including a record five consecutive titles.

Named New Brunswick Player of the Year in 2002, 2007 and 2009, and Fredericton Athlete of the Year in 2007, Jody is also an inductee of both the Fredericton Sports Wall of Fame and the Saint John Sports Wall of Fame.

An NCCP-certified coach, Jody has worked with athletes from youth baseball through the senior ranks. His coaching background includes 13U, 14U and 16U Team New Brunswick, along with the Friedberg Braves junior program, Fredericton Junior Vikings, Senior Royals and 11U and 13U AAA Royals. He especially enjoys the moment something clicks for a young player—and seeing that player return ready to build on what they learned.

Jody also brings a broad athletic background to his coaching. A longtime mixed martial arts practitioner and former MMA club owner, he has trained athletes across baseball, martial arts and fitness, as well as elite firefighting teams. That experience shapes his belief that strength, coordination, movement and experience across multiple sports provide an important foundation for baseball development.

Despite his own playing accomplishments, Jody’s favourite baseball memory comes from coaching: watching his son and his friends work through previous finals losses before winning a 13U AAA championship together.

At Triple Crown, he wants athletes to develop confidence alongside their baseball skills. Discipline, resilience, teamwork and the value of hard work are lessons he hopes they carry well beyond the field.
