A Fredericton native, national champion and accomplished collegiate player, Demitri Shakotko brings high-level playing experience and a detail-focused approach to Triple Crown.

A direct student of Matt Stairs, Demitri carries many of the same teaching principles into his work with young hitters. His instruction emphasizes taking care of the little things, building consistent habits and trusting the work—an approach he continues to put into practice in his own playing career.

Demitri’s baseball journey includes Vauxhall Academy, Team New Brunswick, Cloud County Community College, where he played from 2022–2024, and Southeast Missouri State University. An outfielder with the Fredericton Senior Royals, he helped capture the 2026 Canadian Senior Men’s National Championship. In his first full NBSBL season, he earned Rookie of the Year, the home run title and Co-MVP honours.

At Triple Crown, Demitri works with athletes on hitting, outfield skills and overall player development. What he enjoys most is seeing a player return the following week having practised, understood and built on something they learned. His goal is to help athletes enjoy the game while understanding that progress comes through attention to detail and consistent effort.
